RhubarB BBQ Sauce


  • 1 cup rhubarb (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 medium onion

  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp. chili powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1 tsp. of avocado oil (for cooking)


  1. In a medium size pot, add avocado oil and turn on medium heat

  2. Chop onions and add to pot, sauté until translucent

  3. While onions are cooking, mince garlic and chop rhubarb into 1/4 inch pieces

  4. Add garlic and rhubarb to pot, sauté until rhubarb becomes soft

  5. Add chili powder, salt, pepper and cayenne, and stir until everything is coated

  6. Add apple cider vinegar, honey and water

  7. Turn down heat to med-low and let simmer for 20 minutes or until becomes a thicker consistency

  8. Let cool for 5 minutes and all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

  9. Slather on some meat and enjoy!

Note: Goes great on chicken and pork.
